Part 1

You have been hired by Cycorp, and your first assignment is to add the concept of Cognitive Science and knowledge about it to Cyc. OpenCyc knows nothing about it, so think about what are the first things you want to say. Browse the OpenCyc knowledge base at the URL below to explore what is already in the knowledge base that is related, and then write 5 new statements in CycL about Cognitive Science.

Notes:
  1. The brave are welcome to download and install their own copy of the server from http://opencyc.org/
  2. Learning how to use the OpenCyc browser is part of the assignment. You will find their documentation at http://www.opencyc.org/doc/ helpful. If you have difficulties in how to use the interface or figure out useful tricks, share it on the forum.

Part 2

Marr's characterization of levels of description, as discussed in Markman's chapter, describes three levels of explanation that are used in cognitive science.  Which level (or levels) would you place the Cyc knowledge base, viewed as a cognitive model, and why?  (somewhere between a half page and full page will do.)
