Code to use in subject header: Analogy HW
The ideas of structure-mapping can be usefully applied in working
through an
analogy even without software supports, by using tables. A
concrete method we have worked out for you to use is specified here.
You dont have to use predicate calculus, use natural language entries
in the tables.
Select a news story from the past week that contains an analogy, and use the table method to diagram it. Your answer will have three tables corresponding to entity correspondences, expression correspondences and candidate inferences. The entries in the table dont have to be predicate calculus, natural language is good. Please include the text of the article in your homework, as well as a URL.
Based on your analogy, state one alignable difference and one
non-alignable
difference.
