An example of a cognitive simulation

The picture above shows a simulation of what happens when
people are given two pictures to compare with a tight time
deadline.  They tend to put similar shapes into
correspondence.  Here, the computer puts the triangles
into correspondence.

This picture shows a simulation of what happens when
people are given more time to do the same comparison.
With more time, they choose correspondences based on
having common roles in a relational structure, e.g., the things
in the middle go with each other.
