POST-DOC IN SPATIAL NAVIGATION DEPARTMENT OF COGNITIVE & LINGUISTIC SCIENCES BROWN UNIVERSITY

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Spatial Navigation is available beginning Summer, 2009. The NSF-funded project investigates human navigation strategies and spatial knowledge using a state-of-the-art ambulatory virtual environment (the VENLab, www.cog.brown.edu/research/ven_lab/ ). The post-doc will study the geometry of spatial knowledge and how it depends on the structure of the environment during learning, by creating "impossible" virtual environments. Candidates should have a background in human perception or spatial cognition, with expertise in graphics programming and strong technical skills.

The position is available in Summer, 2009, and is renewable for up to 3 years. The Ph.D. must be completed before starting. UC Berkeley Science Education Postdoctoral Scholar Position

An NSF-funded research project at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks a postdoctoral scholar interested in investigating how instructional technology can benefit teaching and learning in science. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D in the past 5 years in science education or a related field with a focus on assessment, technology, or instruction.
